Compton is a charming village, that is well positioned for Guildford and Godalming, is close to the A3 to London and the south coast and is only 45 minutes to London on the train (from Farncombe). Compton has retained much of its character, it has two conservation areas, is in Surrey Hills  AONB and is within Green Belt. There are 31 listed buildings including an ancient 10th Century Church (St Nicholas) an English Heritage cemetery and is the only village in the UK with a National Art Gallery dedicated to a single professional artist, G.F Watts (1817-1904).

The current population is approximately 1000 and there are fewer than 400 properties. The village has an excellent Public House (the Withies Inn), a number of facilities for hire as well as an eclectic mix of small shops.

Whether it's a private party, a corporate event, a theatre production or a special occasion such as a wedding, Compton has everything you need, in one place.

There are three very special venues for hire. The Village Hall has a great deal of character and even boasts its own stage with professional sound and lighting and can cater for groups of most sizes. For smaller meetings, the Village Hall has a separate meeting room and Puck's Oak Barn provides a character setting for small to medium sized events. If you are looking for something different, you might consider Watts Gallery or Limnerslease, the home of the Victorian Artists, George and Mary Watts.

Just outside the village is the Loseley Park Estate, which is host to many weddings and provides a perfect setting for a number of British films. St. Nicholas Church is no stranger to the film world either and even Watts Chapel, once, found itself transformed into a 1920s nightclub at the hands of one location manager!  The Withies can cater for parties of all sizes and now has superb rooms to spend a night or two in. Compton has excellent professional caterers and musicians.
